The front brake piston barely move, but the rears move quite a bit contributing to larger pedal travel. I think the valve for drum brakes is a 10 psi check valve. But check with someone more certain than I before buying it. Also ensure that the rear brakes are adjusted properly. The self adjustment never seem to get them tight enough for racing and they require manual adjustment before and sometime during each race weekend. Also check for warped rotors. If they are warped or have a runout issue they will knock back the pistons into the calipers as the wheel rotates. My old crew and auto electrical expert, now racer himself, is still in Connecticut (Hi, Jim) & I'm stumped by this conversion. Last weekend, my tach-drive gear box decided to go bouncing down the track as I pulled into the pits after Saturday's last race. Lost. How it came off is unknown. But, this is pushing me into installing the mini 1-wire alternator I've had sitting on the parts shelf for a year. I need to do some minor mods to get it to fit. But, they're easy. Problem is how to deal with the wires on the regulator. I found a description on line about connect brown wires, etc. But, no all-brown wires on the Turner regulator. And, the standard Sprite wiring diagrams don't help a lot. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. Here's what I have on the regulator terminals: A1 - 2 brown/blue wires A - 1 brown/white F - 1 yellow/green D - 2 yellow E - 2 black (Photos available) Turner has already been converted to 12v negative ground. And, as a race car has an emergency shut-off switch. PMs to: twobees at sprynet.com Thanks all. I then ran the "1 wire" from the alt. to the positive side of the battery. At some point I removed all the unused wiring from the harness. The only issue to consider is if and want to use as a indicator that the charging system is working. A few years ago I saw a strange looking gauge on an Alfa, the owner mentioned that it was a volt meter and it was real tough and cheep. I found one for $10 and it works really well, installation is a snap, it has a magnet and sticks to your dash. I added a tie wrap for insurance. Hook one wire to switched power and one to ground. The device is a series of LED lights in a row, when they all light up you have 14 volts and everything is good. Less lights is less voltage, and your not charging. One last point about the one wire, the one I used does not charge at idle until the RPM's get high enough to excite the fields in the alt. This partly because I have an over sized pulley to keep the revs on the alt down. After I start the engine and warm it a bit, I blip the throttle and I get full voltage. Good luck.
