It’s a tight fit, but I didn’t raise them up. Currently I have the drivers seat out of the car so if you’d like, I can take some photos of what I did and send them to you.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">BTW, yes it’s not original equipment, but I’m so glad I installed Miata seats. Not only for comfort, but when driving the car spiritedly, the stock seats didn’t hold either the driver or the passenger in place. The curve of the stock seat back would flex. The driver would have to use the steering wheel to hang on to stay in position, and with the banjo steering wheel, that flexed so it didn’t help much making it a bit of a struggle . When I'd ride as passenger with my son on a weekend rally, I’d hook my arm outside the door to stay in place and not be sliding into the driver.<div><img apple-inline="yes" id="E692A571-4267-411D-A87A-575B1337254B" src="cid:BD4C38E5-ACCF-4119-BD73-446A075971ED" class=""></div><div><br class=""></div><div>WhenI got my Miata seats at a Pick & Pull, I also got the retractable 3-point seatbelt. I had a custom roll bar installed down to the frame and mounted the seatbelt bracket to the roll bar. I also installed a Moto-Lita steering wheel which doesn't flex. Those three things vastly improved the driver experience.</div><div><br class=""></div><div>Rye</div><div><a href="mailto:DriveYourTriumphDay@gmail.com" class="">DriveYourTriumphDay@gmail.com</a></div><div><br class=""></div><div><br class=""></div><div><br class=""></div><div><br class=""><blockquote type="cite" class=""><div class="">On Oct 30, 2025, at 8:16 PM, Jim Wallace <<a href="mailto:grandfatherjim@gmail.com" class="">grandfatherjim@gmail.com</a>> wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><div class=""><div dir="auto" class="">Hi folks,<div dir="auto" class="">I was active here in the early 2000s as I worked on my 60 3a, but it ended up on the back burner while I did things like raise kids, get divorced, get married, get sidetracked by VW campers, build a house, move, retire, build a garage, etc.</div><div dir="auto" class="">It's out of storage and back home now, and I'm planning to finish it this winter so will likely be coming here with questions again.</div><div dir="auto" class="">Here's the first one: I have Miata seats to install, but it sure seems like a mighty tight fit, width wise.
