<div dir="auto">David,<div dir="auto">Yoke for the release bearing is held by a pin the shears sometimes, you would probably have complete failure at that point, but could maybe have a shard hanging on and making it move with some play? Also usually three holes for where the slave hooks with the clevis pin to the extension of the release bearing shaft, so some mechanical adjustment possible there. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Good luck, as I recall there are also two size bores for the clutch master or slave (can't remember which) .70" and .75" they should both work, but an appreciable difference in feel.<br><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Greg Lemon</div><div dir="auto">TR250</div></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, Dec 23, 2024, 7:52 PM David Friedlander <<a href="mailto:forzion7@gmail.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">forzion7@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">Merry Christmas, everyone!<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I last summer, the type A overdrive in my ‘74 TR6 died. John Esposito provided a newly rebuilt J-type transmission to replace it. have now tried several times to install this transmission, replacing the clutch, pressure plate, carrier bushing, release bearing and the clutch slave cylinder too, just to be sure I was getting off to a fresh start. I have now “given up” on it for the winter as it’s no fun working on it at these temps. Despite carefully bleeding the clutch slave, the car lurches when I try to start it, acting like the release bearing is in full-time contact with the pressure plate though I’ve got good travel on the cross-shaft arm. I tied-off the cross shaft during installation to make sure the release bearing stayed in position but…. I can’t think of anything I’ve overlooked or process that I’ve short-cut. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated!</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Dave</div><div dir="auto">‘59 TR3</div><div dir="auto">‘74 TR6</div>
