I redid it about 12 years ago, and it ran great. Unfortunately, I had some health issues, and it sat until recently. I am redoing all of the brakes, clutch cylinder, carbs, fuel pump, etc. I found thick black tarry stuff in the sediment bowl of the fuel pump and bottoms of the carbs. I removed the gas tank, and it appears the same stuff is in there. So, I am attempting to clean out the gas tank. I used muriatic acid, low dilution, and now there are sheets of rust like material coming lose, and the black stuff seems to still be in the bottom. I would like to have it dipped in a hot tank, but can't find one in California (where I live) or Reno NV.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Does anyone have any suggestions? Either a hot tank business in CA or NV? I have thought about taking it to a welder, have the top cut off, sand blasted, and then thee top re-welded. The tank is original, and appears to be solid and in good shape, except for the black stuff. The are no pin holes, and doesn't leak when filled with water.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Thoughts?<br></div></div></body></html>
