Yes, I think the outer u-joint is #1 suspect - if the hub is an issue I'd expect you'd feel a little play in it when grabbing on the mounted wheel. Either way it sounds like a good time to pull the hub and axle off to inspect.</div>

<b>Subject:</b> [TR] Noise from left rear wheel</span>
<div> </div>
</div>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">OK, first, let's not stray too far off topic - no reference to witch's spells.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"> </p>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">I am getting a sharp metallic click or snap sound from left rear wheel area, sometimes pretty loud. I jacked up that corner and rotated the wheel found the sound occurs at about the same
point every time, but not on every turn. It is a sharp click, sometimes louder than others. I can't tell if it is the outer u-joint or the hub. It is NOT the diff mount, I looked and no cracks and was boxed in by the welder who repaired it 25 years ago. It
is NOT in the brake workings; I pulled the drum off and the sound is still present at the same point, but no movement on any brake component.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"> </p>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">Hub or u-joint? I am thinking u-joint since that joint is never lubed because you can't get to the fitting.</p>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;"> </p>
<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;">Watcha think?</p>
