Gentlemen, by now most of you have been made aware of the Rimmer/Moss business combination that they euphemistically call a "partnership".

This raised a number of questions in my mind, so I sent an email to each of them. I received a response from Rimmer today to which I then replied. Below, is the thread of the email communications between us.

Bill Smith

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: William Smith <smithwm845@gmail.com>
Date: Thu, Apr 18, 2024, 10:33 AM
Subject: Re: Rimmer/Moss Partnership #66210050
To: <sales@rimmerbros.com>

Dear Andrew, thank you very much for your prompt and enlightening reply. I certainly hope this business combination will ultimately be a positive for both your customers and the employees of both Rimmer and Moss.

As a longtime customer, I hope and trust that all customers will be be kept informed of all changes resulting from the combination.

Additionally, I certainly hope that the combination will allow the continuation, and hopefully expansion of support for the Triumph TR7 and TR8 models.

Thank you for your email, there are certainly exciting times ahead!

In response to your questions, please bear with us as it is very early days and for the time being it's business as usual. I am sure that any changes desired by the new owners will be communicated to customers as they are implemented.

1) Please continue to use your preferred company, we are still operating as individual businesses, although the shareholders have changed.

2) Currently we retain all our own individual catalogs and also part numbers. Combining them, if that is what is deemed desirable, will be a mammoth undertaking and we could expect to take some considerable time.

3) There is already a crossover of products in inventory ranges where we have either been selling to each other or buying from the same source for years. At this early stage, we don't yet know if the longer term will lead to each company offering some or all the other company's products, certainly that would require the catalog work above to be done not to mention inventory/warehouse expansion.

4) For now returns and exchanges will work just as they do currently, as we are still operating as individual businesses. So if you purchased from Moss deal with Moss for the return and the same with product sourced from Rimmer Bros. In time we may be able to facilitate returns differently, but that is a way off at this stage.

5) There is no change to shipping times and costs at present, in time if catalogs and product ranges end up being combined plus the necessary warehouse changes to allow them to hold extra inventory, there may be, but at this stage it's too early to give a definitive answer.

6) That is essentially the same question as 3, so please see above for the answer.

7) Bill and Graham Rimmer as sole owners of Rimmer Bros sold their entire company to Radial Equity Partners and at the same time the owners of Moss Motors did the same. Radial Equity partners already have a number of Automotive companies such as Coker Tire, Corvette Central, Multi Parts (MPS), Ohio Transmission Corporation and Zip Corvette which they operate as separate businesses each with their individual websites and pricing.

I hope that answers your questions for now, we will all know more this time next year.

Kind regards

Ok, gentlemen and gentlewomen, I received the emails from both
your companies announcing the partnership between your
organizations. However, this leaves a number of questions in my
mind (and I'm sure many other customers minds):

1. If I want to place an order, with whom should I place that
order?

2. Will your catalogs be combined?

3. Will each of you carry all of the other company's products?

4. How will returns and exchanges work?

5. What will be the impact on shipping times and costs (e.g.,
will there be any savings on shipping cost or times if, say a
Rimmer product is purchased through Moss)?

6. will we be able to purchase a Rimmer inventory item through
Moss, and vice-versa?

7. What is the specific nature of your "partnership"?

Is it a legal partnership?

Is it an acquisition by one of you of the other?

Is it merely a selling arrangement?

!!The bottom line is: Your customers need more
