I've not quite gotten over that episode yet, Yes, don't fool around with wheel bearings!</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">The root cause of my wheel-fell-off episode was a restorer who was more used to MG bearing preloads than a TR3's non-preloaded bearings. He read this part of the Red Book service instructions as 101 lb·ft, not 10 lb·ft. And although Mark and Co. didn't do the work that led to the wheel coming off, they know my car and were able to take it into their shop that afternoon while I flew home.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">So listen to the voice of two of us with scary experiences.
