Years ago, I read an opinion on battery tenders by the Magliozzi Brothers, a.k.a. “Click and Clack, The Tappet Brothers”. The gist of it was that the drawbacks outweighed the benefits. So, I’ve followed that advice. I really don’t like to leave any battery connected in my garage, either on a charger or just connected to the car’s electrical system. So, I simply switch the battery off when I park the car(s). That includes the long winter sleep. Come warmer weather, I simply turn them back on and start the car.
