    I have an aftermarket hardtop on my TR6 and like it.  It keeps the
    sun off me (I'm light sensitive) and makes it much quieter on road
    trips without the wind noise.  I can drive the interstate at 80mph
    for several tanks of gas without sore hair or tired ears.  It is
    also nice to be able to securely lock the car.<br>

                    don't use it. I had my rear deck repainted. I put
                    the hartop on shortly after. The VERY FIRST TIME I
                    removed the top, a good friend helped. I emphasized
                    picking it up higher at the rear so the deck
                    wouldn't get scratched. Oh well. Scratched it is.

                      the first area I had to have touched up after I
                      bought the car back in 1989.  My top actually
                      seemed to seal pretty well especially around the
                      windows.  It definitely stiffened the car up –
                      less scuttle shake, less twisting over bumps.  But
                      it’s a convertible… that’s why the hardtop hasn’t
                      been on the car in over 31 years.<o:p></o:p></p>

                        will be transformed is the potential for
                        scratches on the rear deck panel from the hard
                        top riding on that rear panel. I quickly got rid
                        of my hardtop because of that problem. You can
                        try to protect the paint will a barrier of sorts
                        but then the hardtop won't seal properly. The
                        hardtop does make the TR6 look like a cool GT
                        car but it is a semi permanent with pluses and
                        minuses and the rear deck may suffer.<o:p></o:p></p>
