My 71 TR6 had the two-port canister but I decided to fit an Anti-Run-On valve so I converted to later style (from a 73, I think) carbs, canister and hoses. I had to fit up my own electrics to run the valve at shut-off but it works well.</font></div>

<div><font size="3">I would think that aluminium (aluminum) heads would make the </font><font size="3">Anti-Run-On valve unnecessary. The TR8 was not fitted with this system and my car never ever ever ever dieseled on shut-down. Since aluminum is a much better conductor of heat these heads don't develop hot spots to the degree that cast iron does.<br>

<div dir="ltr">I think but am not sure that the '71 Stag originally came with a canister with 2 ports. But unfortunately, know one has confirmed. In some of the manuals and parts books, there are illustrations of the Stag having 2 2-port canisters.
<div>Stag no1 has a carburetor swap to a later Mk2 set. The Mk2 2 Stag has a 3-port canister. The ports on this type are vertical. I was able to find a 3 port canister from a junkyard. It came out of an MGB. THis canister didn't have a restrictor.</div>
