   <span id="_mce_caret" class=""><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size: 12pt;" class="">This is excellent information and a detail most would overlook.  I reduced the cap diameter of an otherwise correctly sized aluminum pop rivet then glued a short length of the shaft in place to smoothly fill the hole.  It's very difficult to tell the difference from the factory rivet.  I thought this detail was important and I kept the original commission plate although it shows it's age. </span></span>

    Yes, I think I was able to find the correct rivets for both early cars (a drive rivet, not a "pop" rivet) and late cars (a closed-end rivet).  If not exact, they're *very* close.  I probably have many dozens of them -- certainly several lifetime's supply -- because I had to order a bunch to get a few.
