<p>...wasn't going to bother with this topic again but it's
back...so I'll simply recount a shot tale of two o/ds.</p>
<p>group Looong yearly road trip. One guy on his third o/d rebuild
by the same noted vendor.<br>
round one loose, then bad solenoid.... we'd thought was his drop
out issue.<br>
Post rebuild #2 (on unit 2... under warranty) more dead o/d tranny
issues....lots of trouble shooting.</p>
<p>Finally drained the builder req and supplied 30wt and put in the
oem spec'ed Hypoy 90wt<br>
8k+ miles now without a hiccup. <br>

<p>further (and sorry Triumph people) my MG BGT Laycock De'
Normanville 'H=type' o/d spec was 30wt nd.<br>
� 167K+ I've put on it without issue.� All my Triumphs use 90wt
gear oil. Have never had an o/d I put together<br>
ever give me an issue.... hmmmm.... guessing around 250K miles
cumulative now over the last 25 years</p>
<p>moral:�� Stick to the oem suggested oil types.</p>

<pre wrap="">We're talking opinions here. Mine is that MT-90 is much better than ND 30.
The OD doesn't care so much, it should work fine on either one, but the
MT-90 will make the main gearbox both perform better and last longer.
And it meets the manufacturer's requirements. ND 30 does not.
