If anyone has (or knows of someone) who owns a 2007, 2008 or 2009 Jeep Patriot 4x4 2.4L I need a bit of help on this odd happening.......it's my daughter's car - she evidently did some "off-roading" and snagged a tree branch which ripped what I think is the EVAP purge valve off it's mounting and took out most of the muffler heat shield.

Whatever this thing is (I'm guessing EVAP purge valve), it's located behind the driver side rear tire in the wheel well attached to the frame rail. Again, if this is what it is, I think it's a black cylinder (round canister) device with two hoses and an electrical connector attached to it.

Before I order a replacement, I'd like to get a photo of the area behind the driver side rear tire (in that wheel well) of someone's Jeep Patriot. The photo would also help in proper connection of the hoses.

I tried asking the Jeep Forum folks but no luck. My other option involves some stalking....cruising local parking lots for a glimpse of a parked Jeep Patriot but I'm a little bit concerned about explaining to a cop what I'm doing so I'd like to save that as a last resort:)

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated since mt daughter is now 3 months past state inspection and this is probably a failure item.
