<div><span>Hello list. We have a NOS factory competition department close ratio gear set for a 5 speed LT77 gearbox. In 1979/80 time period, ARG (Austin Rover Group) put together a factory rally program with Tom Walkinshaw (yes the same Tom Walkinshaw who
ran the GTP Jaguar program a few years later) based on the Rover SD1 platform. They had to homologate many parts to make the car perform. Included among these parts were limited slip differentials and close ratio gear sets. They made 200 of each to make the
homologation requirements. We wound up with 50 each of limited slips and close ratios. All were sold long ago. Recently one of my old time customers contacted me. He still had a new close ratio gear set he purchased from us that had never been installed.
We now have it back in our stock. Below are ratios of both stock and close ratio gear sets. The CR gear set in a TR8 running OE tires & wheels and stock 3.08 diff would reach almost 60 mph in 1st gear. Using 5500 rpm as a base, here are the numbers. Gear
set consists of new lay gear and new 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Price is $!000 and includes new oil pump, gaskets and seals. Please feel free to ask questions. Thanks for your time. Ted</span><br>
