Dear listers,

H6 carburettor, fixing a worn throttle shaft bushing. The new bushes are in; the new shaft is bought from Burlen in the UK. This shaft has the holes and slots for the throttle disc, but nothing for the hole for the throttle stop tapered pin.

I need a little help with these pins.

First, removing the old one. Is it usually sufficient to drive them out, or do they usually need to be drilled?

Second, drilling the new hole. This pin is 3mm at the lower end and 3.2mm (1/8”) at the upper, and has 3 tiny grooves from the top, extending to about ¾ along the length of the pin. So I am wondering if I should drill the new hole at 3mm or 3.2mm (1/8”). I guess the answer is - drill the new holes the same as the old holes, kind of obvious, but it’s good to have the experiences of others who have been there before when you are heading off into uncharted waters.

Grateful for any tips,
Thanks,
Dave
