Sorry to about the possible demise of Pete Groh. Sadly, none of us can escape ‘the end’ whenever it’s to be. As I said yesterday, Don Hiscock has kindly offered to unofficially import the keys when in the UK next month. Looks as though we still need someone to put their hand up to do the custodial bit on the longer term. I could of course chuck them out here to save Don and others the aggro but thought to offer them here first. Thanks to any who may have reposted my email of yesterday on to others for their information.

I stopped by his house (I was local in Maryland) about 10 years ago to get some spare keys for my TR6. He showed me around his garage where he had an Austin Healy 3000 and a TR4, that were in various stages of being worked on but had not been run or driven in quite some time. He was not doing very well then, had lost his wife and was getting up in years. I helped him move some water bottles and had a nice chat with him, but you could tell things were winding down. I hope I am wrong.

They will fit any Wilmot Breedon lock from the late 1940's up to about the late 1960's and will almost certainly fit any UK car make covered by that period. I'm not willing to send them out piecemeal but would much rather let them go to someone who might be able to help out another person in any other British car club.

It really grieves me that whoever pays the postage is going to get lumbered with import duty for what is really just scrap metal, but I don't set US laws. For the record, as the keys have no value, duty is levied on the weight of the package and that duty is paid to the US Embassy in London. If I haven't had an email from anyone by 31 March, I'll put them in the trash. The number and quantities are on the attached .pdf Excel sheet.
