So you chose Kremlin over Taj Ma Conventry. A sign of the times, I guess. What with he cold war in full swing and all. Were the hoi palloi required to prostrate themselves before entering or were they just barred all together? Of course that is just a rhetorical question. We all know the answer.

Sorry, my fault. “The Kremlin” came about in the mid 1950’s and was in use by former CEO, Alice Dick, and a limited number of his cohorts. Constructed at a time when there was some profligacy with company finances. When Leyland bought the company in 1961, it fell into disuse. Rather than demolish it, the decision was taken to use it for odd conferences and as a new car handover point for VIPs. When I knew it, the facility was still rather ostentatious and IMHO, overly opulent for the purposes it didn’t really serve.
