Convention Update: 2026 VTR National Convention Cancelled Due to Flooding
in Host City
Dear Larry,

It is with great sadness that I must announce the 2026 VTR National
Convention has been cancelled. Despite the tremendous effort of the South
Texas Triumph Association (STTA) to overcome the natural disaster in
Kerrville, and the heroic efforts of Drew Holliday and others to find an
alternate location, we were unable to put together a viable convention.

Here's what happened over the last two weeks: Kerrville experienced
horrendous rains, as much as 25 inches, over a very short period. Even
though the host hotel was not near the river, four of its seven buildings
sustained significant damage from rainwater incursion. This greatly reduced
the hotel's capacity to host an event like ours. Given the damage, and the
remote location that makes Kerrville so quaint in the first place, there
were no viable alternatives nearby.

The STTA informed your VTR Board last Thursday of the situation and
recommended the event be cancelled. Drew Holliday, of the Central Oklahoma
Vintage Triumph Register (COVTR), asked me and a few others in the South
Central Region who've helped run past Regional and National events in Texas
for a few days to see if we could put together a coalition to "rescue" the
event. Over the past few days, we explored several locations and dates, but
facility availability and room costs made it impossible to work out. The
Board met Wednesday evening and voted to close the matter.

The host hotel (YO Ranch) has already begun contacting those who registered
to let them know their reservations have been cancelled. If you haven't
heard from them yet, you can reach them at (830) 327-4558.

The STTA has also begun reaching out to registrants to refund their money.
