Mine is exactly the same way.
It is my understanding that back then they titled the cars the year they were sold, so ours must have sat on the car lot for awhile.

I'm still here.  Since I bought my '62 TR 3B in 2004.  It's actually titled as a '63, but I remember reading that they didn't build any TR 3s in '63.  I've rarely posted in all those years, but I've read nearly every issue since that date.  I have benefited from some very valuable information over those years.
