More modern Triumphs have a wide variety of multi-pin connectors and those schematics have a variety of symbols with crosses with different combinations of filled-in quadrants.

 But as I looked over my wiring diagrams, I found one for a 73 TR6 very similar to your picture where the indicator lights are more of a bulb just off of your picture, so my first thought was wrong.    Now I wonder if it might indicate a bullet connector.
