Originality not a consideration!!! I just thought it would be easier to go with the original concept as opposed to drilling new holes. But I think I can take a standard lap belt and either run these “hooks” through the webbing where the bolt holder is, or maybe cut the belt and run it through the metal clips that are on the current belts.
I already bought some Brookland racing screens. They are gorgeous! Can’t wait to put them on the car. btw my car is an early 59 TR3a. its an original LO. i took the OD off and had it put on a TR6 transmission, which will be going in the car. the car came with two engines. The first was likely the original one; there were 2 rust frozen pistons, a crankshaft, and not much else. The second engine is a TR4 engine which had an already rebuilt head. That engine is at the rebuilder, getting 89 mm pistons, mild cam, lightened flywheel, Pertronix, etc. The car will have 6.5” wheels, upgraded suspension, etc., fog lights instead of a front bumper, and maybe a leather strap for the hood.
It was, and will stay, a Texas car, is in great shape, and the window sticker (which I am preserving) is from 1972 so I suspect it’s been off the road that long. Its pretty original with blue interior and came with an ashtray!!
Here is the model I’m working toward: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLUKlP1iHkE

In this case I’m not sure that I would be concerned with originality. A hook and eye bolt is I think, more common. It may have been dealer installed. What car is this?
