Perhaps a cooling vest might make the warm tunnel more tolerable.

This one puts a bunch of stuff at the lower back making it unsuitable for driving, however there are many different models some of which will be more appropriate for driving..

If/when I need to replace a tunnel I will consider it.  my current project is an early 59 TR3 which still has the metal tunnel in really good shape.

I had this crazy idea of designing a 2 layer plastic tunnel with water lines in it and a radiator out front to cool it, using an electric fuel pump to run the water.

                Thanks for the replies.  I’m going to consider that two piece transmission tunnel the next time I have to remove the existing tunnel.  I have an ABS tunnel and, as you all know, it is a bear to remove/replace when I do any transmission work.
