So based on my years of British cars Affection, ownership, & 'British Perfume' Syndrome in my TR4, Early Jag E's, 90's Land Rover Discoverys; Rover V8 transplants in MGBs, etc ;I found in 2005 a 62 Buick Skylark Hi Performance Alum 215 Coupe (with Rochester 4GC 4 brrl) I said 'Why not the original engine in an original BOP car'.The car had 112,000 original miles and still ran great. It has the 2 spd 100# Alum Transmission. I now have 116000 totally depend able miles. The cylinder heads have NEVER been off.. The ONLY N0T OIL / Fluid leak I have had to deal with in 18 years was from the original speedometer cable sheathing. Since I replaced the speedometer cable (Whopping $14), I have hadNO fluid leaks at all.Buick used to advertise "When Better Cars are Built, Buick will Build Them".I've been a MOPAR guy since 1956 but this 62 Skylark has been a really Dependable 'Teacher's Hot Rod'. Few oil changes, lube jobs, Tranny Differential fluid changes, Rear brake hoses & lines, new rear wheel cylinders & new tires, Carb tweeking, Generator commutator cleaning, Engine Bay detailing- all I've done.Sherman D Taffel Columbia MD and Goldvein VATR4EJag V122 Jensen Interceptors3 Jensen ( Healey) GTsMany Americans 36 Packsrd Straight 8, 56, 60s, 80s 90s 00s, -2015.Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S10, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone
