Install a thinner washer. Generally fixes that symptom. DP

I am hoping that the top was drilled properly. But it makes me wonder when it can be made to go in and out of OD by pressing the shifter slightly forward and backward all while in 3rd gear.
It almost strikes be as if the drill hole is a little too far forward…..???? Could that actually be the case? I have no idea because I don’t know the precise shape and positioning of whatever it is on the selector that triggers the switch.
