Dave,

If you can get a pair + linkage I would recommend HS6 carbs. I put a 
pair on my 63 4 and no problems in over 20 years. Sourced them on ebay 
originally for my 72 6 but I ended up putting the Hitachi HS6 on the 6.

Would also recommend a Facet pump or similar.
