I use WD-40 mostly as a stain remover for oily stains on laundry. It's
quite good at stain removal, and that's probably the only thing I'd
recommend it for.

I'll sometimes use it to degrease bicycle mechanisms that don't readily
come apart, like some shifter or brifter types, where it does all right.
