Since the kidney pads were not on the TR4A, I do not have the hardware. Does anyone have the dimensions of the bracket that joins the two pads, crossing over the transmission cover? Or, better yet, does anyone have a bracket with which they would be willing to part? It seems the bracket is no longer available. Thanks in advance for any assistance you might provide. I think that one thing you might consider is that professional thieves often use flat bed tow trucks and simply pull the target cars up and are off in a matter of minutes, often without opening the doors. In order to thwart them, as part of your alarm system use motion/vibration switches so that if the car is disturbed the alarm goes off. Most of us protect our cars assuming that the theft will be having the car leave under its own power. PLUS...as it pertains to this discussion with regards to anti-theft of the car, you can turn the distributor OFF. How cool is that!? Turn it off and go into a restaurant, and the only way someone would be able to steal the car is with a tow truck! So if you need to buy a new distributor anyway, or have a hot rod engine and you want to customize things, check it out. Full disclosure, I?m about a week away from assembling the engine, so I haven?t use it yet, but a few mechanics have recommended it, and that?s where I heard you can turn off the distributor. I don?t see that mentioned on their website, but I?m sure that?s something you can check with them as they have a ?contact us with questions? right on their home page. I just looked at my Kano Lab folder and I see I paid $8.20 per large can for a case of 12 back in 2007. I believe they were the large, 16 oz. cans but I could be wrong. Naturally, over the years, things got more expensive. I also bought a case of something called Weatherpruf which was a non-volatile, cosmoline type of coating to keep items from rusting over long term storage. That was a good product and I see they no longer offer it. That?s too bad. I also see that the company no longer sells direct to the consumer, but only through distributors. As we all know, anything from Amazon will be sold at a premium. From their (Kano) website, it appears that the company was sold a couple of years ago, probably the reason for so many changes. One thing that really is aggravating is when you buy a bunch of spray cans and then in time, some of them loose their propellant. Now you have full cans with no easy way of getting the product out. I think the Kroil cans had an overly high incidence of that happening. I bought a gallon can in 2017 ? it was $53 for one can that you could use in either a pump style sprayer or a pressurized sprayer. That was a good value but I made the mistake of buying the Silikroil version. I found out in a hurry that if you ever want to paint something that you used Silikroil on, the paint would just bead up, no matter how much you pressure washed the item. I?ll never buy that again. It?s also over $100 per gallon now. Based on their current marketing strategy, I don?t think I will be writing any more checks to Kano Labs for Kroil. I bought a gallon of PB Blaster along with a metal bodied pump sprayer for about $30 at NAPA store. That was and is a good value and that?s what I would suggest. I think the PB Blaster has more of a residual lubricating effect and I find that works well on things like ratchet binders and things like that. It is also a credible penetrant, especially with a bit of heat. Plus, if you are at a local store to buy that sort of thing, you don?t experience what amounts to incredibly high shipping costs. I agree ? I don?t use WD40 much. I have found it can cause rusting of unprotected surfaces.
