[TR] Windshield wiper wheel box question

All,
In addition to the wiper arm slipping I found that the little tang on the inside of the arm that is supposed to clip underneath the knurled wheel of the wiper box is too high to actually clip under the wheel. I hope I am explaining this accurately..
After further investigation I found that if I turn in the wipers and hold the driver side wiper box, I can feel the knurled wheel skip. So I removed the driver side wheel box and the gear that is driven by the cable is definitely worn. I would prefer to find a decent original vs. installing a new one but I may have no choice as I scrounge through my spare parts bin.
T- minus a day and a half till we leave for Watkins Glen!
No pressure!!

I have a set of original wheel boxes but there is no way I can get them swapped in before we leave this Thursday. For instance, Is there some type of shim stock/adhesive combination I could wrap around the knurled wheel on the wheel box?
