There is some chance that the ballasts provide for reverse polarity, but it doesn't seem very likely to me. For positive ground, you would need to use relays and make some wiring changes. It would be easier to reverse the polarity on the car ? a 5 minute job. But the wheels are fitted with standard tire valve stems - and they don't protrude beyond the cutout in the trim rings. So it's almost impossible to fill the tire or use a pressure gauge. I've also seen valve stem "extenders" (one of my spare wheels had one of these fitted) - but this does not look like a decent alternative. Suggestions? Thanks! Easy answer - I really like the look of the original design. And for me, the best look is with the original aluminum trim rings - beautiful. I'm currently using aftermarket chrome rings, because I only have three aluminum ones in good condition (and one or two that are beat up). And I just switched to these original wheels from wires that I had on for the last several years. Now --- talk about wheels that are "not very good" !! I'm really glad to be done with those. There are also several nice aftermarket wheels that I like. I happen to have a second TR6 (hasn't run in a long time!) that's going to need a nice set of wheel, I keep an eye on what's available pretty often. Enjoy the ride! Message-ID: This is off topic but since people are scattered about the country I figured I would ask here. I am looking for self serve salvage yards (Pick a Part kind of places) in Houston - early/mid '90s vintage vehicles, primarily for Isuzu but also some others. Preferably toward the west side, I'll be coming in from the far westside. I'll be in the Houston area for a couple of weeks (mother's 90th birthday) and I figured I could look for a few parts. I have been poking around on the web a bit but can't get a good feel of which ones I should try to visit (and conversely to avoid, and it appears that many do not have a web presence). One of the ones I plan to go to is Houston Auto recyclers on West Mt Houston. Open for suggestions for other places - TIA -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Gather some younger car people from one of the regional car clubs or tech school, or enthusiasts, start with that Valve Cover and add everything what is needed under the Valve Cover and dump that Morris Garage lump. I've seen 4.0 Jaguar DOHC 6's shoehorned into Midgets so a Triumph 2.0 should fit easily and be a welcomed power upgrade. Paint her your favorite Russet and name her "Flossie's Calf" Of the "Flying Cow Pie" as it is definitely small enough to park on your cow path street in Eve. But definitely post a video of you entering and exiting that vehicle if you thought a Spitty or GT6 required knee pads as standard equipment. I wonder if a two-week build could be scheduled by some enthusiasts? Seems to me you park your caravan at that farm too? That is beds, commode and kitchen! Anyone game for another charity build to coincide with MG & Triumph Spares Day for parts supply ?? Okay, my old brain cells are being tricked into releasing their information, which should shake @JOE CURRY 's recollection. I recalled there was a lot of discussion on the autox.team.net discussion board circa 2006 as a potential fund raiser and email list supporter participant identifier at car shows when these were being produced, but could not put my finger on the exact date. Searchable archives? Absolutely! http://www.team.net/html/triumphs/ The discussions are all on the autox.team.net archives here http://www.team.net/mharc/archives/cgi-bin/namazu.cgi?query=grill+badge&submit=Search%21&idxname=triumphs&max=20&result=normal&sort=score subjects of 'List Grill Badges' and 'Triumph List "Grill" Badges' I think the Autox.team.net email list badges "may have" been made by Quality Lapel Pins, the US vendor of many other Triumph/British Car and auto club Badges. @JOE CURRY, I think you were the driver for that project? There is mention of a Canadian vendor too. I used QLP for the North American Stag Club grill, lapel (2002) and key fob (2004) badges I designed and had made which started back in the early 2002 which may have been around the time the Autox badges were being designed. It may have been Fred who told me about QLP but my memory hasn't released that detail. @JOE CURRY So I dug out an old email between you and me dated ~April 2007 discussing producing/selling the badges and options for sending them overseas, issues about collecting funds from overseas Autox members, so that got me looking through the autox.team.net archives it was indeed around mid 2006 which I confirmed by searching the autox.team.net archives. That does not fit with them being passed out by Fred at TRF in 2003/4 though. But that fits for them being manufactured before the TTA Triumph Trans AmeriCAN charity drive in 2009. Your and my discussion was because we were sending the TSCUSA badges globally to members and using PayPal and you needed a way to sell badges and collect the money. Joe, Remember? Beautiful job. I went on line and ordered him a 6 pack of Pale Ale because he refused to take a check. We have and continue to have a bunch of great people on this list. Some have passed but the memories will go on forever. And yes the badge, one on the 3 and one on the 4. They were all gone when the 6 was finished. Believe it or not I have given this list's URL to a few young guys seeking advice on their restorations, both Triumph and MG directly from the badge at car hops. All they needed to do is whip out their phone. I am really enjoying this thread. Bob On 11/18/22 7:15 PM, Jim Henningsen wrote: > Fred?s TR3 was sold by a dealer online.
