[TR] Tires

Depends what you mean by "best":  the car originally came with 155 x 15, but these are no longer available (as far as I know).  So most people go with 165 x 80 x 15, the only problem being that it is difficult if not impossible to fit an inflated tire this size in the spare tire compartment of a TR3.

On one of my TR3s I have 195 x 65 x 15 tires on 6" wheels and they fit the car fine.  I removed the trunk floor in order to be able to carry a similar spare - see pic.

I have heard of people going with even larger tires, but then you can get into issues with the tires rubbing on the fenders.

Just my 2 cents worth....
