As an alternative to hylomar, I use Permatex #2 or its equivalent for most gaskets not in direct contact with fuel, it’s non-hardening, fills pits and is soluble in alcohol.

use hylomar. never sets up like permatex. easy clean up if you have to take it apart.

Anybody have a North American source for this?  All my expensive gas is getting past the edges of my current one.

The upper cap where the gasket & mesh seat is all pitted.  I’m hesitant to use gasket goop around the rim ‘cause some day I have to remove said goop.
