[TR] [6pack] Rear end clunk

So I remember reading, I believe on the list, that when the ring and pinions as original from Triumph were manufactured that they were run with a compound that bedded the ring and pinion as a “set” and that this considerably reduced differential howl. I think that the thread was to the effect that the new ring and pinion sets were not “matched and thus a lot louder.
Does anyone know (remember) if this is correct?
Best,
Bob

When I was installing the differential and new, shortened drive shaft I discovered one of the transmission mount bolts had gone missing.

Do I bite the bullet and get it checked out? I'm sure my mechanic will say get it fixed. And how much do you think a repaired rear end will cost me?
