I thought about the 5 speed conversion for my 1959, TR3A, but at the end, I sourced a Type A overdrive, had it checked out by an expert, and installed it. In my opinion this is the best way to improve the TR3A. Can now easily cruise at 80 MPH on the highway, and have 7 forward gears. It is nice to drive in traffic using the overdrive to shift up and down as needed.

It was the biggestimprovement I've made to the car and has been trouble-free. No regrets! Although Herman has passed on, Moss now sells the conversion kit (seehttps://mossmotors.com/hvda-5-speed-conversions). It uses a Toyotatransmission (not included in the kit). Dave MacKay1960 Triumph TR3As/n 68639Lnear Toronto, Canada** triumphs at autox.team.net ** Donate: http://www.team.net/donate.htmlArchive: http://www.team.net/pipermail/triumphs http://www.team.net/archive Unsubscribe/Manage: http://autox.team.net/mailman/options/triumphs/brserv@aol.com
