The only wiring details I had found is what I described above, based on: As I described above, this did not work as expected. On the Triumph Register site, I found a post by Alan Turner that suggested the correct wiring for the switch is pin 4 to ground, brown/light green to pin 6 and red/light green to pin 7. With this setup, the first pull of the switch powers the wiper motor at the slow speed and the second pull provides the fast speed. Now all I need to do is remove the whole unit again so that I can rotate the parking switch cover 180 degrees. Hope this helps anyone else working on the same issue as there appears to be conflicting information out there. Keith, I'm sorry I wasn't able to reply sooner - and I didn't really have anything to add. This is excellent detective work! In my garage, I have an oversized TR4A schematic on the wall. It is the only place I have seen any documentation of the two-speed motor, and it took me a while to figure out where I found it. There's a very bad reproduction in the 1988 "Triumph TR2-4A Catalogue" from TRF - but you can't even read the colors there. I finally found that mine comes from the Bentley version of the TR4-4A workshop manual, which includes the TR4A differences in the first section, the "Driver's Operating Manual", including the entire schematic. BUT ... this schematic does not include the pin numbers, which as you learned (and I had learned and forgotten) are critical. Decided to put on a new set of Dayton wire wheels for a Triumph TR250 or TR6. These are the BEST wire wheels out there and still Made in America! 72 spoke, 15 x 6 inch TUBELESS design. You do not need inner tubes. I bought these for my Triumph TR4A but they did not look right (too wide) and actually caused a rubbing of the top center front inner fender that cut a groove in the new tire. Didn't effect the wire wheel. I was surprised as these say they fir the 250. I decided to dismount the tires since the the 4A has 4.5 inch rim width but I thought these would be ok on a 4A. I installed new tires on them and put them on the 4A and drove 1 mile and back into the garage. Took them off and had tires dismounted. They have no scratches or curb rash and look like they did when they came out of the original Dayton boxes. Still have the red stickers on the front of wheel that are to be removed by tire dealer. Unfortunately, my tire install shop threw the boxes away so I do not have them anymore. They will come in the Rota alloy wheel boxes that I got when I bought new 15" alloys for my Triumph TR8. If you are looking for a great deal on a practically new perfect set of Daton wire wheels, please contact me off list. They are listed at the link below. One of our club members has same setup as you on his 250 without issue, which is why I thought the 6 inch wires would work. Has to be the offset. In any event all fixed now with the 4.5 inch width wires and 165 80 15 tires. Looks stock so I?m happy. Will be happier if I can find a home for the nice Dayton?s. I would like to swap out my original four blade metal and have a spare TR6 red blade. Anyone done this? Won't know what I have there for mounting until I pull the radiator to get recored. I do not have a spare yellow blade fan. Just curious what wisdom folks have learned on the list. They are 7" wide. You can still find them for a little over $100, though I don't think you can get the silver color anymore, only the dark. No problem with tires or wheels on the back. The front inner lip would rub on the top end of the front suspension fulcrum at full lock in reverse until I added spacers and ground down the end of the arms a little bit. If I had to do it over again and cost was no object would probably go with 6" wheels and same size tires. Greg Lemon TR250 On Sun, Jun 27, 2021, 10:00 AM Cliff Hansen > wrote: Drool?
