Dum Dum was used as a non-setting sealant between body panels and as a seam sealer. It is no longer available here in the UK, thanks, I think, to EU rules.Graham

Huh. I worked for a VW dealer in Atlanta, and we used plenty of Dumdum. I always figured it was a slang term, as I never saw the box it came in.
What I call Dumdum was sheets of wax paper with eight or so rods of
soft, semi-sticky sealant like modeling clay side by side. Looked
like a box of skinny black pencils.
