Unfortunately the car is at friend Brad’s – if he can shoot a pic of the two mounting holes on the scuttle and maybe the captive nuts on a fender, I’ll post …

Agree with Andrew, only one bolt, a picture would help.

Other than the bolts which attach to captive nuts on the fender under where the front apron sits, I am aware of only one bolt which screws into a captive nut in a TR2 or TR3 front fender – the one which is accessed from the footwell. A picture would be very helpful as I have just looked at my cars and cannot understand what you are referring to.

My previous post a few months ago on this failed to trigger a response - as we're now about to hang the finished front fenders, I'm hoping someone has a suggestion ...

The car in question is a 1954 TR2 long-door and the question is how the rear bolt fastening the fender to the scuttle is inserted/tightened? There are two mounting points along the scuttle. Both use ¼ inch UNF bolts that screw into captive nuts in the fender. The front one is obvious as there is a hole in the scuttle accessible from the footwell. No access for the rear bolt. While it could be loosely screwed into the captive nut and slid into the mounting point on the scuttle which is open on the bottom, how is it tightened?

Surely someone has experienced this?

As always, any been-there-done-that thoughts would be muchly appreciated.

Cheers,

Brian
