Sounds like a teenager. I thought you TR was older than that. 😊

No, it must have been Windows 7. It did what it wanted when it wanted and not necessarily what I wanted.

Sounds like you were ahead of your time with that wireless bonnet release – was it Bluetooth?

True. But this does:
One day I was working on the TR3 and decided to take it around the block for a test run. As I headed out I noticed that I had forgotten to latch the bonnet. "No worries" I thought "the safety catch will keep it down for the trip around the block." says I. Except that it didn't. Due to a misalignment it didn't and I was barely doing 30 MPH when the bonnet came up and over breaking both hinges and doing about $1,000 worth of damage. At that point I wish it was forward hinged.
BTW I shifted the latch over about a 1/4 inch (.6mm) and it now actually does what it should.

No problem. I just saw that the subject line was dealing with TR3s and an under dash bonnet release did not seem to fit with these bonnets. 😊

Are we still talking about TR3s here? The bonnet on the TR3 is rear-hinged unlike the TR4-6 range with their forward hinges. Any cable attached to the bonnet latch would hang down at the front of the engine. On the TR3, the forward edge of the bonnet is held down by the Dzus fasteners.

I used a spare TR6 bonnet release cable to the passenger's foot well. Now I can release the cable from either side of the car.

I use a bicycle cable for an emergency bonnet release on my TR6. Directly from the lever on the latch to the passenger’s footwell where the nipple is hidden away.

Here's Macy's door pull kit -- two of 'em, in fact. I hand carried these to TR friends in the UK a couple of years ago, as Mark avoids the hassles around international shipping.

Yes. My biggest question is where can I get those parts? Dave says the inner part is heavy gauge leather. It looks like the outer is thinner, more supple leather. I have neither. Does anyone sell these parts?
