I did what Randall suggested when I changed my clutch.  I put it back together with a high strength pin to properly located the fork then drilled a 1/4" hole through the fork and shaft.  I then got a bolt with a shoulder long enough to go almost completely through the fork, so no threads were against the shaft.  I then drilled the nut/bolt and put a section of safety wire through it to make sure it stays.
