[TR] Lost more than just my head!

I just ordered valves for my TR6 from Moss.  TRF is also a good source.  If you don't want to deal with either of them try TS Imported in Ohio.  But at $5 - $6 a piece, they are not expensive and the cost will get lost in the machine shop changes.

It's been about 5 years since I've ran my TR3's engine and I now see one of the exhaust valve's stuck open.  So I turned over the engine with a wrench (having sprayed lubricant into the cylinders thru the spark plug holes), I even ran a couple of feet of lamp cord into the spark plug hole hoping that might help push out the rusty (I guess) valve but it still wouldn't budge using my socket wrench.)  I contemplated using a cheater pipe on my socket wrench, but didnt want to chance it.  At this point, I think I'll pull the head and take it to my engine shop.  Question: Who do they get their parts from?  Are they as good as Moss, or TRF?

Let's see, stored outside under a tarp for several years, valve stuck open, valve made out of steel, steel rusts, um... yeah, I think so.
Sorry for the bad news.
FWIW, I took my head to the shop the other week.  It was working mostly OK but I was suffering from valve seat recession.  The machinist said my valves were rusting.  This on a working head.  So I ordered new valves.  Lot$ of $tuff to do on this head.

I don't know alot and my TR3 has been up on blocks outside covered up with a tarp for about 15 years.  I think I started the motor about 5 years ago.  Its been quiet since that time; I've wanted to wait until retirement to get it going again.  I didn't anticipate losing my drivers license, which might affect my plans.  However, maybe the TR3's stylishness will throw off the cops if they pull me over.
I pulled back the tarp, (I had prievously removed the bonnett), lifted the valve cover and saw that I needed a pushrod tube as I never completed the valve adjustment job about 5 years ago.In doing so I also saw one of the valves stuck open! I don't remember this happening, but I'll need to address it before continuing with the valve adjustment. Is there any likelyhood that something like stuck open because of a dry valve guide?  Is it essential that I pull the head?  I kinda think it is.
