I’m pretty sure they are the same.

Are the filter-mounting holes the same distance/dimension on the HS6 and the H6 carbs?

Hi, Paul. In terms of paper vs. steel mesh, I've done three options. One, I used the steel mesh original filters, but alone they don't capture enough dirt. I impregnated them with oil but living on a three hundred yard dirt/dust driveway, I just couldn't have confidence the dust was being completely filtered. Second, I added the foam surrounds for the steel mesh filters as some on the List have advised, but frankly they don't seem to have the porosity rating to capture smaller dust particles in the dusty environment I live in. I wound up going with the bolt on paper filters. That would be these:

Cool, thanks! Is paper element better the steel mesh?

Good question and one that I think I asked the rep on the phone, because the model I needed and have seen on other Triumphs, the depth or thickness of the filter was less than the one that didn't fit and hit the fender wall. They work well.

Does the width of the filter affect the SU's pperformance?

The first ones I bought didn't fit, which I think came from Moss. Hit the inside fender. I then called K&N directly and talked to a guy, because the TR3 wasn't listed. The rep I talked to was very helpful and he told me which model I needed, and they fit perfectly and was the best price I could find online too.

I see now they have a live chat option, and Tech at Knfilters.com. I called the 800 # and talked to one of their reps directly.
Good luck,
Rye

I bought my K&N air filters off the K&N site. Best price and they fit

Because of the engine torquing and twisting I wonder if the height of the air filters that I get Will make a difference. I hope the ones from Moss good ?
