Since the capacity of the tank is 57 litres, and that equals 15 gallons, 7
1/2 would be about half full.

My gas gage read pretty empty; looking into the tank with a flashlight
confirmed that it was pretty empty. Obviously I don't have an exact amount
of what was left.  The float seemed like it was at the bottom of its arc.

I put 7 1/2 gallons in; it read 1/2 full.  Anyone want to comment on whether
its reading high, low, or pretty close?
