Thanks. I’m so very tired of wrestling with those sleeve style lug nuts. Christmas is coming….

normal beveled seat lug nuts.
A couple years back they still had steel inserts. The last two sets I bough did not.
In either case I use Mcgaard lug nuts. The taperd seats are captive on the nut but rotate
as you tighten the nut. So the seat does not grind into the aluminum

Paul,

Do the Rota wheels use a beveled lug nut, or the sleeve style?

Personally I've been stuck on the Rota RBs
https://18racing.com/collections/rb <https://18racing.com/collections/rb> also goes by wheelboy(?) on eBay

I currently have them on my 2014 Mini, My '73 BGT and both Spits (15's on the Triumphs and MGs 17" on the Mini) had 'em on both Miatas as well

VERY strong and MUCH cheaper and MUCG lighter than Panasports! Sizes and PCDs to fit nearly all Triumphs!
(yes even the diminutive Spit 3.75")

Hi Jerry,

I didn't know about VTO wheels. I'll definitely give Acme Speed Shop a

call. I see that the VTO wheel starts off as an A356 casting tempered to

T6. Anyone know what the materials and tempering are for the GC360 wheel?

David by the time the TR250’s came around a 4 spoke American Racing

Libre wheel which are nearly impossible to find these days was getting

popular with racers. There are some photos of Group 44’s TR6 with these

wheels. Fortunately VTO Wheels makes a nice knock off in several

styles. Acme Speed Shop sells these or you can go direct to VTO. These

would be in my opinion more period correct for Late TR4A’s 250’s and

6’s. Had they been available when I bought my Panasports I’d have

purchased them instead. Having said all this it’s your car and your

option to buy what you like. Web site for Acme is below.

Hi David,

All good questions. The only objective answers are weight and more of an

authentic vintage look with the GC360 Silverstone replicas. These will

be going on my 1968 TR250. The Panasports weigh 18 lbs and the GC360

Silverstone IIs weigh 15 lbs. The Panasports are more of a Minilite look

while the GC360's are close to exact replicas of the original American

Racing Mags available at the time. The only difference I can see is that

they're aluminum and not magnesium and they're 6" wide versus 5" for the

ARE. Still undecided but the authenticity of the look is important to

me. Thanks for your input.

David;

I see your Comm. number but don't know what model/year

vehicle you're driving. How much would a set of the GC360

wheels cost (I don't see any prices on their website)?

If you're currently running Panasports, what's your incentive

to switch to something that looks so much like it?

Anyone here have experience with these American Racing Silverstone

    with my Panasports?

BTW, checkout these original ARE's sold on ebay:
