[TR] [NET] TR3A Torque Spec?

Here’s a chart you could look at. http://www.repairengineering.com/bolt-torque-chart.html Not knowing the bolt grade, etc., I would suggest around 125- 150 ft. lbs. The biggest challenge may be holding the crankshaft from turning. I heard a funny version of torque specs from my brother who worked on military equipment – “tighten it until your arm clicks” for big bolts or “tighten it until your hand clicks” for smaller bolts.

Subject: Re: [TR] [NET] TR3A Torque Spec?
Thank you Richard. But the bolt I'm inquiring about is the main bolt
holding the fan (and the fan extension) to the crankshaft. It is a 6"
long bolt with a 5/8-18 UNF thread for the last couple of inches.
This is Moss P/N 320-090... Item 69 in the attached clip:
Does your manual specify a torque for this bolt?

David,
According to Triumph Owners Handbook of Maintenance and Repair, Floyd Clymer Publications, VelocePress, 2009, p. 316, the torque for "Fan Attachment," 5/16 inch U.N.F. Bolt is 16-18 lbs. ft.
I hope this is helpful.

Hey all;
Can anyone tell me if there is a torque spec for the large bolt used to connect
the fan to the end of the crankshaft (the bolt goes through the pulley hub and
the fan extension) ? I didn't see a torque spec anywhere....
Thanks for any help.
