I know this topic has probably been beaten to death.  I just read an article that the new SM grade oils have even less ZDDP.  I have been using regular oil with a zddp additive but his article said the extra detergents in the newest oils (last four years) wash that away internally so it is not as effective.  

What's the list wisdom on the best motor oil for our classic flat tappet engines?
