Bob – it’s important to mention that octane numbers in the UK / Europe are different to those in North America because they are calculated in different ways. The 97 octane figure you quote is the UK/Europe value and this equates pretty close to 90-91 in the US. You can use an octane booster if you wish but some careful adjustment of the ignition settings to avoid ‘pinging’ might be all you need to do?

I have a new to me 65 TR4A and it states to use 97 octane fuel. Does everyone add octane booster? I have 87 octane available with no ethanol would this be good enough. I also will add lead additive.
Another problem is I have the two fuse box with red wires to one fuse and green to the other fuse. The fuse with the red wires to it has no power. What does this run? Everything seems to be running on the car. Thanks, Bob
