[TR] TR 250 A Type Overdrive

Hi,
My wife's TR 250 is making a strange chattering sound at slow speeds 
with the OD engaged.  We have noticed it when slowing down for a stop 
sign and also at a fairly steady of about 25 mph in second overdrive.

The shift lever, also, vibrates a lot when it is chattering.  I know it 
requires a certain amount of  pressure to engage the OD  and at slow 
speeds it can drop out of OD.  It has not done this chattering before, 
could it be caused by the OD engaging/disengaging?

I did fill the the tranny, it took less than a pint.
