[TR] TR3 Dash

Thanks to all who responded about TR3 dashboard work. I think the current direction is to clean and plug un-needed holes in the existing dash and then re-cover in Vinyl. Best to all.

Since the entire sheet metal is hidden once the vinyl is on, repairs may be fairly easy since you're trying for 'smooth' rather than 'perfect'.

 

What is the nature of the damage.  Smaller unwanted holes can be ignored (Triumph did that too).  I don't know that I have seen a rusty dash but can imagine it is possible.

List – We have a TR3a in the family that is going through a home restoration/freshen up. It currently has the original steel dashboard that has been removed and will need some patching. Any thoughts on either rejuvenating the steel dash or converting to wood? Any club websites that would be a good reference??  I didn’t see anything on the TRA site or Buckeye Triumph after a quick perusal.  Thanks for any suggestions.
