[TR] Wiring

Happy New All,
 
After 5 years my 1962 TR4 is slowly coming back together.
Probably not in time for the National get together 1st week March, which I
have paid for.
I have replaced my loom with an ew one from Moss Europe.
How do I figure out which side the wires go on the back of the gauges or is
that a daft question.
Also I can't find the relay for my Overdrive.
D I need one?
Where would it normally be located? 
Looking at the wiring diagram, it looks like I have to run a two extra
wires, a white one from the ignition switch and a brown white one from the
ammeter into a relay.
