I know that somewhere in the dim and distant past that I saw a very helpful
guide to the 4 cyl Standard Triumph cylinder heads that was similar to the
one published by Chris Witor for the six cylinder range that's also on the
web. ISTR it included Vanguard, Sportsman, Ensign and the Fergie tractor.
The guiding number you need to determine deck height, cr's and valve
diameters is the number cast on the head between the rocker pedestals. It's
out there somewhere, guys - but where? Maybe the TR Register can help?

Hi List!
A friend has a head & was wondering if ANYONE can give me info. to: What
type of head he has?
The info. he has given me is:
1- It's the same length & width of a 4 cylinder engine (like a TR3/4)
2- It has ALL ports ROUND (NOT oval/rectangle like the TR4/A head)
3- All round ports are IN Line (NOT like a 'High port' TR4/A head)
4- All ports SEAM small (maybe like a (spitfire?)
5- NUMBERS: MC 20612 &
6- 300 440 found under the front of the engine BELOW were the thermosate
would go in the head)
