Thank you to Bob (and Henry, Michael, Jerry, David and Tom) for your helpful
replies. Clearly the top which came in a box marked "TR4" is not correct -
which helps explain my confusion.
I will be visiting Albert at the Roadster Factory later this week and I am
sure he will helpme, now I understand what I need.
Great list, great advice !!

Andrew,
The rear attachment is similar to the 3, Lift-o-dots. The front, however, is
attached just by slipping the cover under the top of the windshield frame.
Inside the top there is a set of thin steel strips that just fit under the
lip of the frame. The tension applied when you expand the hoodsticks secures
the front. Great idea I must admit. I like it better than the fitting on the
4a, 250 and 6. Very secure and easy to set up in an emergency.

List:
I have a TR250 where the soft-top latches down on the windscreen frame, and
TR3s where the top is help by a row of tenax fasteners.
I recently acquired an early TR4 and it isn't clear to me how the top
attaches.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
